The X1 is a Professional Series TASER, and its listing describes the platform as trusted by more than 18,000 law enforcement agencies worldwide. Here is what the listing tells you:

TASER StrikeLight 2: a stun flashlight
The StrikeLight 2 hides a stun device inside what looks like a regular three-mode flashlight.
- Price: $189.
- Output: 20,000 volts (20kV) and a 10 µC charge.
- Warning: an audible arc warning.
- Light: three LED modes, high, low and red.
- Charging: USB-C rechargeable.
- Design: discreet, it looks like a regular flashlight.

Choosing by situation
Start with what no device replaces. Stay aware, keep your distance, leave when you can, and call 911. A TASER is the last layer after all of that, not a substitute for it.
Then match the listings to your situation:
- Mostly at home. Hallways, stairs and small Honolulu apartments are close quarters by definition. The 7 CQ's 12-foot reach, loud arc warning and backup shot are designed for exactly that setting.
- You want more space between you and a problem. Walking to your car in a big parking structure at night is a common example. The X1 and Pulse 2 both list a 15-foot range. The X1 adds a laser and contact stun, while the Pulse 2 comes in at a lower price.
- Budget comes first. The Pulse 2 at $450 and the StrikeLight 2 at $189 are the two lowest prices. Just remember the StrikeLight 2 has no listed range.
- You want something discreet. The StrikeLight 2 works as a flashlight for early morning dog walks, with an audible arc warning added.
- Batteries matter to you. The X1's Performance Power Magazine and the 7 CQ's battery pack are both listed as not rechargeable. The StrikeLight 2 charges over USB-C.
